Welcome to Truj and Brian's Wedding Shuttle!

Grab a snack, settle in, and enjoy some great tunes and hearty laughs. One of our very favorite things to do is take a roadtrip -- in fact, tomorrow afternoon, we're driving straight to the Finger Lakes in western New York. Thank you for taking a road-trip for our wedding!

Albums

Here are the albums Truj and Brian listen to front to back on most of their drives:

Chappell Roan: The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess (Spotify | Apple Music)

If you’ve ever wondered what songs are most sung in the Trujilton house right now, this album is all of them.

Bo Burnham: Inside (Spotify | Apple Music)

There's something extremely cathartic about singing songs about being locked inside while on a drive

Boygenius: The Record (Spotify | Apple Music)

Brian is a Lucy Sun, Julien Moon, Phoebe Rising. Truj is a Phoebe Sun, Lucy Moon, Julien Rising.

There's nothing like revisiting angsty high school favorites as an adult, especially when sharing your high school self with someone who didn't know you then. Truj recently showed Brian Switchfoot's The Beautiful Letdown (Spotify | Apple Music) and Brian regularly revisits Enter Shikari's A Flash Flood of Colour (Spotify | Apple Music). We highly recommend dusting off some old favorites on this trip!

Plus, our current favorite playlist: Dairy Queen on a Sunday Night is exactly what it sounds like, nostalgic and extra sweet. (Spotify | Apple Music)

Podcasts

Truj and Brian host a podcast called Most Important Meal, and it's all about breakfast food and love. If you'd like to listen, we recommend episode 21, titled Have You Ever Been In Love?, which added that phrase to the couple's lexicon forever. (Apple Podcasts | Spotify | Overcast)

We also recommend episode 64, titled Bacon of the Moment, which includes a tier list of Truj's favorite wisdom-tooth-recovery foods. (Apple Podcasts | Spotify | Overcast)

If you'd like to hear more podcasts that Truj and Brian have been a part of:

Brian does a lot of editing for The Incomparable and is extremely proud of their music work in the Album Draft episodes. They painstakingly added in dozens of little song snippets as they were being talked about and it was a blast to work on! (What is an Album Draft? It's an excuse to talk about a big list of favorite albums, but like a sports draft, once an album is chosen, it's off the board and can't be chosen as a topic by another panelist.)

90s Album Draft (Apple Podcasts | Spotify | Overcast)

2000s Album Draft (Apple Podcasts | Spotify | Overcast)

Brian also plays lots of games on The Incomparable Game Show, including a recent favorite called Mind Meld, hosted by fellow wedding-attendee Tony Sindelar. (Apple Podcasts | Spotify | Overcast)

Truj has the world's best opinions about musical theater, and you can listen to them talk about Company on the podcast Corner of the Sky with fellow wedding-attendee and Broadway expert Quinn Rose! (Apple Podcasts | Overcast)

Videos

Because you’re not driving the shuttle (in case you are, and if you’re reading this, thank you for making today possible), you can watch longform YouTube video essays on the trip as well! Here are some YouTube channels we love, and a video to introduce you to them.

Hbomberguy’s video on the origin of the Roblox Oof sound takes so many twists and turns while being hilarious the whole time.

We highly recommend going to the Kayla Says YouTube channel, run by fellow wedding-attendee Kayla LaRosa, and scrolling through her list of recent videos until you find your Roman Empire and giving it a watch. Brian was been particularly invested in The Confusing Marketing of The Mean Girls Musical Reboot, while Truj couldn’t get enough of The Downfall of Euphoria

For the full Truj and Brian Weekend Experience, watch a James Hoffmann video tomorrow morning while drinking a fresh cup of coffee. His recent deep dive into celebrity coffee commercials is a blast.

Folding Ideas runs the gamut from making fun of crypto to criticizing how YouTube handles children’s content, but our personal favorite is Jamie Oliver's War on Nuggets, which is all about classism in food YouTube.
